Information Collection and Use

Fitally is a step counter. It needs two kinds of information to do its job, and it asks iOS for permission before touching either one.

Motion data

With your permission, the app reads step counts from the motion sensors in your iPhone — the pedometer and, where available, the device's motion coprocessor. These readings are used to show your current step count and to add it to today's total. If a pedometer reading is unavailable, the app falls back to an estimate derived from accelerometer data.

Apple Health

With your permission, the app reads the following from Apple Health so it can show history rather than only today:

• Step count
• Walking distance
• Flights climbed
• Active energy burned

These values are read only. Fitally never writes to, modifies, or deletes anything in Apple Health.

What Fitally never asks for

Fitally does not request, access, or infer your location, contacts, calendar, photos library content, microphone, camera, or advertising identifier. It contains no advertising SDK and no cross-app or cross-site tracking.

What Is Stored on Your Device

Everything you enter in Fitally is written to your iPhone's own app storage and is never transmitted:

• Your name, height, weight, step goal, and unit system, held in the app's preferences
• Your theme, haptic, and background preferences, held in the app's preferences
• A profile photo and a background photo, if you choose to add them, stored as files inside the app's private container

The step, distance, floor, and calorie figures themselves are read from HealthKit and the motion sensors at the moment they are displayed. Fitally does not build a separate copy of your health history.

Data We Do Not Collect or Share

Fitally has no network layer. It cannot upload your data because it has nowhere to upload it to. Specifically, the app:

• Creates no account and asks for no email address
• Runs no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or usage measurement of any kind
• Contains no advertising, and shows no ads
• Sets no cookies and embeds no web content, because it opens no network connections at all
• Sells, rents, or shares no information with anyone

Because no data leaves your device, there is nothing for us to disclose to anyone, and no third party ever receives your information.

Calorie Values

When Apple Health has an active-energy value for the day, Fitally shows that value. When it does not, Fitally estimates calories from your steps, height, and weight. Those figures are a walking estimate, not a measurement, and are labelled as such in the app.

Your Control Over Your Data

You are in charge at every point, and nothing is hidden behind a setting:

• Revoke Motion & Fitness or Health access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security
• Erase everything Fitally has stored from the app → Settings → Account & Data → Delete all data
• Delete the app from your iPhone, which removes its preferences and its photo files with it

Deleting the app is a complete erasure. There is no backup copy on a server, because there is no server.

Security

Your step data, health data, photos, and settings stay inside the app's private sandbox on your iPhone and are protected by the device's own security — its passcode, and Touch ID or Face ID if you have set one. Fitally adds no layer of its own because there is no data in transit to protect. If your iPhone is compromised, every app on it is, including this one.

Children's Privacy

Fitally is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because Fitally collects no information from anyone — of any age — there is nothing here to delete on a child's behalf.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Because the app sends nothing to us, we have no way to notify you of a change inside the app; the page is the record.
